Location and Transfers
Situated on/in (!) Lake St Clair, a 2 hour 30 minute drive from Hobart.
Find yourself 250m out on the lake in boutique accommodation, surrounded by nature at her most wild. Rooms appointed over three levels, relaxing lounge areas, an alluring help-yourself bar… all sitting out on a glacial lake.
Room types – the first two floors are occupied by the eight Pumphouse Signature rooms, each with its own unique character and connection to the lake. The four Pumphouse Top Floor rooms are the most spacious rooms with distinct architectural styling, designed for guests with a penchant for the top shelf… and a love of bathtubs!
Pumphouse Lounges – enter the Pumphouse and you’ll know you have arrived. Through generous bay windows, the ancient mountains are your welcome party. Help yourself from the bar while Mother Nature’s theatrics unfold. There’s a flickering fire, deep seats and a mezzanine level where the show continues.
On the lakeshore, this original Hydro substation presents a classic art-deco style, complete with original exterior and magnificent foyer stairwell. The Lakehouse is the heart of Pumphouse Point, home to the atmospheric dining room and lounge. On the floors above are peaceful rooms with lake and bushland views.
Room types – arguably Pumphouse Point’s finest real estate, the four Lakehouse Waterview rooms offer panoramic views of the lake. You’ll take your best photos before you’re even out of bed. Some even cater for the bathtub enthusiasts! The Lakehouse Standard rooms may not have a lake view; but with all the trimmings of the other rooms they are exceptional value amongst World Heritage Wilderness
A hearty breakfast to kickstart the day, a gourmet platter from your in-room larder, a selection of drinks from the honesty bar then dinner with hosts and fellow guests. The food and beverage selection has been prepared especially for Pumphouse Point by renowned chefs and providers, designed to showcase the best in Tasmanian produce.
From the Larder – each room has a larder filled with tempting food and beverages for you to purchase during your stay. Enjoy local cheeses, cured meats, hearty soups and much more – anytime, anywhere. With whites, reds, bubbles, beers and the island’s famous cider, you need only journey six steps from your couch to toast out the day.
Breakfast – help yourself to breakfast each morning in the Lakehouse. Build your perfect toastie with local ham and cheese, indulge in homemade baked beans or for a lighter option, fill a bowl with granola, fruit and and fresh yoghurt.
